The Perfect Canada Day Card
My business coach challenged me to create the perfect Canada Day card. The first stamp set that came to mind to create this card was the new Always An Adventure along the the matching Outdoor Adventure framelits.
It’s July 1st and Canadians are celebrating our country’s birthday. This year Canada is 149 years old and in comparison with many countries around the world we are still babies. Canada and Canadians are coming into their own and are recognized around the world by the Maple Leaf. Apparently, Canadians use “EH” many times in our conversations.
This is a long weekend for most Canadians. What a great way to celebrate by going on a camping trip and enjoying our beautiful country. We have mountains, lakes, trees and of course the bears. I couldn’t do an outdoorsy card without having a bear.
Stamps: Always An Adventure.
Ink/Markers: Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Pacific Point, Soft Suede, Real Red Basic Grey Archival, Cajun Craze (Regals Stampin; Write Markers), Always Artichoke, Pear Pizzazz.
Paper: Whisper White Thick, Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke, Real Red.
Accessories: Big Shot, Outdoor Adventures Framelits, Little Letters Thinlits, Little Numbers Thinlits.
Here’s a few details:
- The sky is sponged on Whisper White card stock using a dauber and Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie inks. The ground is sponged using Pear Pizzazz.
- The mountains are die cut using the mountain framelit in the Outdoor Adventures set.
- The trees, bear, tent and sign are die cut. The fire and lake are fussy cut. The fire stamp is coloured with the Cajun Craze and Soft Suede markers.
- The red maple leaf had to make its appearance on the card and the “EH?” adds to the humour of the card.
You can create this card using the same supplies for another occasion. All you need to do is change the sentiment. Create this card for someone who likes to fish, camp or generally likes the outdoors.
This perfect Canada Day card was fun to create and is only an example of what can be done with this stamp set. Leave me a comment and tell me what you like or not like about this card.
