The  Royal Peacock, when showing off his beautiful  tail feathers, is a beautiful sight to see. Actually,  I cased  this  card from the 2019/20 Catalogue.  When I first saw the suite in the catalogue, I just knew it would show up at my front door sooner or later.  Well, it was sooner.   Royal Peacock Suite

This  a beautiful suite and  you can have  it  all  with  only  one  ordering  number.  Click the above image to see all the various items in this suite (152187). Royal Peacock

Peacock and Foil Papers Card Recipe

Stamp Set: Royal Peacock.

Ink: Pretty Peacock, VersaMark.

Paper: Whisper White, Pretty Peacock, Noble Peacock Foil Sheet (Old Olive), Pool Party.

Accessories: Die Cutting Machine, Detailed Peacock Dies, Beads & Baubles Embossing Folder ,Stitched Nested Labels, Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack (Mossy Meadow Linen Thread, Stamparatus.

How To’s

Getting the peacock framed by the Old Olive Foil Sheet was a bit tricky.

  • With a cutting tool, cut the foil 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ and center the largest Stitched Nested Label in the center of the foil. Die cut the image using a Die Cutting Machine.
  • Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock – 3-3/4″ x 5″ and emboss with the Beads & Baubles Embossing Folder.
  • Use the Stamparatus and stamp the peacock on the Whisper White cardstock with Pretty Peacock ink. Do not remove the paper or the stamp from the Stamparatus.  Once the ink is dry, ink the tail feathers with VersaMark and line up stamp over the tail feathers.  Now, remove the stamped image,  heat emboss with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and die cut with peacock die.

How to Align the Peacock Behind the Foil

  • Slip the embossed Whisper White cardstock behind the label in the Old Olive foil and lay the cut out peacock on the cardstock and eyeball where the peacock looks the best.  When you are happy, remove the Whisper White cc and attach the peacock with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Attach the layer behind the foil and then attach the whole panel to a Whisper White card front.
  • Because the foil is a large piece be careful and when applying adhesive .  If using the Multipurpose Liquid Glue, do not press too hard.
  • NOTE: the next time I use such a large piece of foil which needs to be adhered. I will apply a piece of adhesive sheet before die cutting the nested label. Even better would be to emboss with an embossing folder.
  • Stamp a sentiment on a scrap of Pool Party cardstock with Pretty Peacock ink.  Cut a larger scrap  of the Pretty Peacock cardstock and frame the smaller piece.  Attach to card front.  Add a piece of Old Olive Linen Thread underneath the sentiment panel.

There are so many ways you can use this suite and I will be posting a blog in a few days with another sample.

Be sure to come back and see some more Royal Peacock projects.

Use the Come Sail Away stamp set to create a fabulous card for a sailor or for anyone who likes the sea. My Dad was a sailor during the last great war. As he gets older, he realizes the impact that the war had on him and his family.  He joined the Canadian Navy when he was 17 years old. He did his training in Halifax Nova Scotia and then off to the West Coast for the duration of the war.  As a family we lived in Prince Rupert for 15 years which is on the coast. Now, as he reaches 95 years old, he is very proud of his service as we are proud of him for serving his country.

Create this card for a male, although you can use it for who anyone likes the beach.  It has a coastal vibe.

Sail Away Card Recipe

Paper: Thick Whisper White, Soft Suede, Night of Navy, Whisper  White,  Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper.

Accessories: Die Cutting Machines, Smooth Sailing Dies, Classic Label Punch, White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, Aqua Painter Brush, Stampin’ Blends: Smoky Slate Light, Balmy Blue Combo, Crumb Cake Combo, Color Lifter, Linen Thread.

  • Cut the background panel from Whisper White cardstock: 3-3/4″ x 5-1/2″.
  • Prepare the background: Using one of the clear blocks, pick up some Balmy Blue Ink.  Add a couple of drops of water.  Pick up the ink with the Aqua Painter Brush and swipe across the Whisper White Cardstock.  Do the same treatment with the Old Olive ink and create some land.  Attach the sailboats and the lighthouse.  Place the lighthouse on the land and color the land with Old Olive.
  • Stamp the birds in Tuxedo Black in the sky above the boats.
  • Emboss a piece of Soft Suede cs with the embossing die. Attach over the land. Tie a piece of the Linen Thread around the card,
  • Stamp the Sentiment on a Night of Navy cs with VersaMark.  Heat emboss with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Punch with the Classic Label Punch. Tie the Linen Treat abound the attached panels.
  • Cut designer series paper: 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ and attach to card base.  Attach the focal panel to the designer series paper. Attach the sentiment just above the Soft Suede embossed strip.

The Wonderful Romance Stamp and coordinating dies are retiring.  Why did Stampin’ Up! have to pick this one for retirement. I find this stamp set so versatile.  You can emboss and color the image with Stampin’ Blends, or use the Brusho Crystals to create a background and then stamp with Memento Black Tuxedo ink. However you want to use the stamp, is entirely up to you.

The Dies are beautiful too.  One of the dies has a screen on the side with petals cut into it so that you can have a decorative edge on your card . The circle die is cut out around the circle so that you cardstock has a decorative edge.  The paper is wonderful as well.  There are 6 sheets of printed Vellum which are beautiful.  In, fact, I layered a piece over Petal Pink cardstock for this card.

This stamp set and its dies are suitable for any type of occasion: birthday, anniversary, wedding, sympathy, thank you…and so many more.

Wonderful RomanceRecipe for  Wonderful Romance Card

Stamp Sets: Wonderful Romance, Well Said, Itty Bitty Birthdays.

Ink: VersaMark, Petal Pink.

Paper:Petal Pink, Whisper White, Floral Romance Specialty Designer Paper, Vellum.

Accessories: Die Cut Machine, Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies,Well Written Framelit Dies, White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, Pearl Jewels, Petal Pink/ Whisper White 5/8″ Variegated Ribbon.

Details to recreate this card

  1. Use the Embossing BUddy and wipe across the vellum before stamping the flower.  This step eliminates static so that the embossing powder doesn’t leave specks when you heat the embossing powder. Stamp the image with VersaMark, sprinkle with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Heat with Tool Gun to melt the powder.
  2. Attach the printed Vellum from the DSP pack on a Petal Pink panel.  I used Stampin’ Mini Glue Dots and attach them to the printed Vellum in places that would not show on the front. After die  cutting the flower and leaves, attach to the printed Vellum with Mini Glue Dots.
  3. Wrap a piece of the Variegated Ribbon around the panel, tie a bow and attach to the card base.
  4. With Whisper White cardstock, die cut the word “friend” from the Well Written Framelit Dies and attach to the top of the card.
  5. For the inside, stamp “Happy Birthday” and “Awesome at any Age” from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp on a Whisper White panel using Petal Pink ink.  Attach to the inside of the card.
  6. Dress up you envelope.

Wonderful Romance Stamp

See the Tea TIme card for another suggestion for using the Petal Pink colours.

As the Floral Romance Suite is retiring and if you could use a stamp set that is great for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, thank you, etc.  I suggest that you get it before June 3rd.  This is the date that the 2019 Occasions Catalogue retires. You will find any of these products on  my ONLINE STORE.
