As soon, as I saw this stamp set in the new catalogue, I had to have it.  I am sure that this stamp set will get used over and over.  It’s great for masculine, kids, anniversary, and birthday cards.  What other types of cards do you think can be made with this set.

Over The Moon Card Recipe

Stamp Set: Over the Moon.

Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento, Blueberry Bushel.

Paper: Whisper White, Blueberry Bushel, Seaside Spray, 2019-2020 In Color Designer Series Paper (6″ x 6″) – Gingham Sheet.

Accessories: Die Cutting Machine, Stitched Shapes Dies, White Doily, Seaside Spray 1/2″ Scalloped Linen Ribbon, Frosted Flower Embellishments, Stampin’ Blends: Crumb Cake Combo, Petal Pink Combo, Soft Suede Light, Bronze, Highland Heather Combo, Real Red Light, Mango Melody Light, Mint Macaron Light, Color Lifter.

You Can Create The Greeting Card

• Cut Whisper White cardstock 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ score at 4-1/4″.
• Cut Blueberry Bushell cardstock 4″ x 5-1/2″.  Attach to card base with adhesive.
• Stamp cow on Whisper White cardstock, color with Stampin’ Blends and fussy cut. She is sporting a pair of red boots – quite sassy don’t you think?
• Cut a strip of the Seaside Spray gingham designer paper – 4″ x 1/2″. angle ends and attach to Blueberry Bushel panel. Cut a strip of the Seaside Spray 1/2″ Scalloped Linen Ribbon – 5″ and angle ends.  Attach to the strip of gingham paper.
• Layer a White Doily over the strips.  Die Cut a medium circle from Seaside Spray using the Stitched Shapes Dies. Stamp a sentiment from the Over the Moon Stamp on the circle with Blueberry Bushel ink. Attach to white Doily.
• Attach the cow to the lower left side of the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• Place a Frosted Flower Embellishment below the sentiment.

You now have created a cute cow card for anyone on your occasions card list.  How about creating more cute animal cards.

The Dies are beautiful too.  One of the dies has a screen on the side with petals cut into it so that you can have a decorative edge on your card . The circle die is cut out around the circle so that you cardstock has a decorative edge.  The paper is wonderful as well.  There are 6 sheets of printed Vellum which are beautiful.  In, fact, I layered a piece over Petal Pink cardstock for this card.

This stamp set and its dies are suitable for any type of occasion: birthday, anniversary, wedding, sympathy, thank you…and so many more.

Recipe for  Wonderful Romance Card

Stamp Sets: Wonderful Romance, Well Said, Itty Bitty Birthdays.

Ink: VersaMark, Petal Pink.

Paper:Petal Pink, Whisper White, Floral Romance Specialty Designer Paper, Vellum.

Accessories: Die Cut Machine, Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies,Well Written Framelit Dies, White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, Pearl Jewels, Petal Pink/ Whisper White 5/8″ Variegated Ribbon.

Details to recreate this card

1. Use the Embossing BUddy and wipe across the vellum before stamping the flower.  This step eliminates static so that the embossing powder doesn’t leave specks when you heat the embossing powder. Stamp the image with VersaMark, sprinkle with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Heat with Tool Gun to melt the powder.
2. Attach the printed Vellum from the DSP pack on a Petal Pink panel.  I used Stampin’ Mini Glue Dots and attach them to the printed Vellum in places that would not show on the front. After die  cutting the flower and leaves, attach to the printed Vellum with Mini Glue Dots.
3. Wrap a piece of the Variegated Ribbon around the panel, tie a bow and attach to the card base.
4. With Whisper White cardstock, die cut the word “friend” from the Well Written Framelit Dies and attach to the top of the card.
5. For the inside, stamp “Happy Birthday” and “Awesome at any Age” from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp on a Whisper White panel using Petal Pink ink.  Attach to the inside of the card.
6. Dress up you envelope.

Now that you have the list of supplies needed to create a beautiful hummingbird birthday card, let’s put it together.

 Details:

• Cut Whisper White cardstock at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and score at 4-1/4″
• The Black & White diagonal stripe piece from the Botanical Butterfly DSP is cut at 1-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ .
• Cut a second piece of Whisper White cardstock at 3″ x 5-1/2″.  Swipe the Smoky Slate ink across the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder.  Insert the Whisper White cardstock into the embossing folder and run through the Big Shot. This technique will give you a distressed look to the Whisper White background.
• Attach the diagonal stripe DSP to the left hand side of the cardbase and attach the embossed piece to the right-hand side of the card base overlapping the striped piece..
• Stamp the hummingbird and the flower on Whisper White with the Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Color with the Stampin’ Blends mentioned above.  Highlight and blend the colors to add interest to the your art pieces.  The Color Lifter is great for adding light to areas of your image.
•  Cut the Hummingbird and the flower with the framelits.  To add dimension to the flower, stamp another stamen, color and fussy cut with the Paper Snips.  Attach to the flower with Mini Dimensionals , and yes, you will likely need to cut them in half.
• Finally, die cut the words “happy” and “birthday” from Flirty Flamingo cardstock using the Well Written Framelits.  Attach all your elements to the card front and stamp some wishes inside the card.

Details:

• Use one of the Happiness Blooms Memories & More cards & Envelopes for your card.
  Choose the cards that you would like to use.  Both these cards have a glossy finish to them.  I chose a large one with a Lovely Lipstick design and a smaller on in greys and white.  Cut the large one so that it takes up about 2/3rd of the card front and the smaller one may need to be trimmed a bit.
• Stamp the Make a Wish with VersaMark on a piece of Night of Navy cardstock and heat emboss with Whisper White Embossing powder.  Trim the corners with the 3/4″ circle punch.
• Cut a circle from Smoky Slate cardstock using the large circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  Sponge around the outside of the circle with Smoky Slate.  Cut in half.  Attach to either side of the Night of Navy panel and then attach to the doily.
• Stamp the balloon circle, and the ice cream in Lovely Lipstick on Whisper White.  Stamp the cone on Whisper White with with Crumb Cake ink.  Die cut the pieces using the dies from the Broadway Lights Framelits.
• Attach the Night of Navy panel to the left hand side and the balloon and ice cream cone are attached to the right hand side.

Recipe

Stamps: Detailed With Love.

Inks: Blueberry Bushel.

Paper: Whisper White, Blueberry Bushel, Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Specialty Paper.

Accessories: Detailed Trio Punch, Pretty Label Punch, 5/8″ Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon, 1/8″ Grosgrain Blueberry Bushel Ribbon.

This card is simple and easy to create and focuses on the Laser Cut Paper. Snip a  portion of the laser cut full page to obtain the flower pattern.  Adhere to a panel of Blueberry Bushel cardstock with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen.  The contrast between the cardstock and the flower panel really showcase the laser cut paper.

Stamp the 4 corners of the Whisper White panel with the scalloped and dot stamp.  Use the Detailed Trio punch  to punch the flower into the corner.  Place a piece of the Blueberry Bushel cardstock behind each punch out.

Before attaching the the BLueberry Bushel panel to the WHisper White panel, attach a piece of the Polka Dot Tulle ribbon and a piece of the Blueberry Bushel grosgrain ribbon behind the panel. Stamp the “Happy Birthday” and the swirl on Whisper White with Blueberry Bushel.  Punch with the Pretty Label Punch. Punch another label from Blueberry Bushel and cut in half lengthwise.  Attach each have to the Whisper White label so that the top and bottom are framed.

This card is very each to create as there is no stamps or ink used and very limited othersupplies.

Paper:Whisper White, Petal Pink, Coastal Cabana, Share What You Love Designer Series Paper, Delightfully Detailed Laser-cut Specialty Paper.

One side of the Laser Cut Specialty Paper is white and the other is ivory.  If you look at the previous Blog Post  you will find the card that was created using the laser cut paper as a stencil.  Use the flip side of this piece on the card.

FInally, attach a piece of the Adhesive Sheet to the Petal Pink cardstock and die cut “Amazing” and “You”.  Remove the backing from the Adhesive sheet and attach to the front of the card.

Use the Laser Cut Speciality Paper and don’t hide away to save for a rainy day.  So often we come across a beautiful paper and instead of using it, we save it.  Do you have a habit of doing this?  Well, I do, but with the release of the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue, I told myself that I wasn’t going to go into saving mode.

The Laser-Cut Specialty Paper comes in 2 different patterns.  One pattern uses a full sheet of 12″ X 12″ paper. This is the paper I chose to use and snip the flowers to use as a group or individually.

Recipe

Stamps:Touch of Textures..

Ink: Powder Pink, Tranquil Tide.

Paper: Whisper White  Powder Pink,, Tranquil Tide, Delightfully Detailed Laser-cut Specialty Paper.

Accessories: Tranquil Tide Ribbon, Whisper White Baker’s Twine.

This card uses the splatters from the TOuches of Textures stamp set.  Ink the stamp with Powder Pink ink and randomly stamp on the Whisper White panel. Next, decide which flowers you want to use for the card.  Snip these from the laser-cut paper.  I also cut and separated one flower from all other flowers and leaves. Attach the grouped flowers over the splattered background.  Apply the Liquid Glue Pen adhesive to the back of the flowers. Attach the single flower over the group of flowers.  Color a dimensional with a Daffodil Delight  Blends pen, attach to the flower center and place on card.

Recipe

Stamps:Eastern Beauty.

Ink:Calypso Coral, Pineapple Punch.

Paper:Whisper White, Pineapple Punch, Garden Impressions 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, Delightfully Detailed Laser-cut Specialty Paper.

Accessories: Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, Eastern Medallions Thinlits, Layering Circle Framelits, Detailed Trio Punch, Decorative Ribbon Border Punch, Whisper White 3/8″ Classic Weave Ribbon.

Select a group of flowers and snip away from the rest of the sheet.  Place on Whisper White cardstock with the white side up. Use a sponge dauber and Pineapple Punch ink and sponge over the flowers.  The laser cut specialty paper is acting like a stencil.  Remove the stencil from the Whisper White panel. Stamp and die cut the sentiment with the Eastern Beauty stamp.

Stamp the sentiment in Calypso Coral ink. On the Pineapple Punch panel, punch each corner with the Detailed Trio Punch.  Punch a strip of Pineapple Punch cardstock with the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch and apple on the top and bottom of the panel and between the punchouts.

Create this Serene Garden Birthday card using a new stamp set, new dies and a new tool.  Try the new Big Shot Embossing Mats.  With these mats you can emboss easily using Framelits, Edgelits and Thinlits.

I am a big fan of using your tools in new ways and now Stampin’ Up! has made it easier. Not only can you embossing with dies but you can die cut using the die and then emboss if your die has decorative ejection holes.

Recipe For Birthday Card

Stamps: Serene Garden, Detailed Love.

Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento, Mint Macaron.

Paper: Thick Whisper White, Whisper White, Soft Seafoam.

Accessories: Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, Garden Scene Framelits Dies, Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon, Banner Triple Punch, Big Shot Embossing Mats, Glitter Enamel Dots, Pink Pirouette Blends Duo, Calypso Coral Blends Duo, Light Crumb Cake Blends,  Blends Color Lifter, Enamel Glitter Dots..

Stamp the leaves, and flowers Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Whisper White.  Color with the blends and die cut the flowers. Place on the panel.

Stamp “Happy Birthday” on Macaron Mist and punch with the Banner Triple Punch.  Attach to card front  and attach ribbon around the panel.  Give the flowers dimension by popping them with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Finally, attach panel over the embossed card front and enjoy your handy work. Send your card to a birthday person so they can enjoy as well.

Embossing Mats

Your favorite Framelits, Thinlits, and Edgelits dies can do more when paired with the Embossing Mats. Use with dies that have decorative ejection holes for additional embossing. Or use with cutting dies to emboss instead of cut. Includes Impressions Pad, thin silicone rubber mat, and thick silicone rubber mat.

However, with new products, there is sometimes a learning curve.  Yes, these mats require a different Big Shot Sandwich.

There are instructions that come in the package with the Embossing Mats.  However, they may be confusing.  I played around with some instructions that  Sharon Armstrong developed.  Please read the instructions in the package or print off the ones in this post.  So, you can two options for the sandwiches.  I would suggest that you play with the mats until you are comfortable with the instructions.

As the embossing on the Whisper White is difficult to see, I embossed a piece of Bermuda Bay so that the impressions show.

Goodbye stamps, I will miss you!  Yes, we are doing the annual goodbye to many Stampin’ Up! products.  There are stamps, papers, die cuts, colors, and tools that we will miss.

I will miss is the Birthday Memories Suite with its Birthday Delivery stamps, Birthday Memories papers, and the Birthday Friends Framelits Dies.  Actually, I can’t believe this set retired.

To celebrate the retirement, I created a birthday card with the set.

I love fancy folds and this fold is no exception.  While I don’t know the exact name of this fold, I am going to call it a Pop-Out Fold.  As you can see from the image below, the inside panel pops out when opened.

Details

When you look at the front of the card, there is Night of Navy Baker’s Twine, which when you pull on it, will help to open the card.

The front of the card is uses the Layered Circle Framelits. However, you can also use the Layered Square Framelits or the Layered Oval Framelits to create an alternate opening.

Here is the inside of the card.  The best part about this suite is that you can use the framelits to cut out the images on the Birthday Memories Paper.  Along with the balloons, gifts and banner, there are foxes, cake and poodles.

However, this time, I stamped the cake and colored it with various Blends. You can purchase the stamps, paper and dies as a bundle and receive 10% off the individual products.

So, while it’s time to say Goodbye Stamps, it is also a time to rejoice as we get ready for new products.  It’s impossible to keep all the Stampin’ Up! products in the catalogue. It would become so huge we couldn’t lift it, let alone hold it.
