Sneak Peek – The Open Sea
Hi Everyone: Yes, we are still having snow, however, that is trivial in light of one of my friends in the Tangled Up in Creativity blogging group whose family suffered through the tornadoes in North Carolina. She and her family are OK and are in my thoughts.
I am sharing one of the new stamp sets, along with the coordinating DSP that will be available on May 1, 2011. The stamp set is called the Open Sea and there are so many possibilities with this stamp set and even better, it will help you with those masculine cards that are often hard to come up….Father’s Day, Birthdays, and anything in between. So in keeping with a birthday and a male, this card is for my son-in-law.
So here is the sneak peek
Inside |
Stamps: The Open Sea, Something to Celebrate (Hostess Level 2, Occasions Mini), Bring on The Cake (c – 121958 $33.95, w – 121899 $47.95, Occasions Mini p 20)
Paper: Natural Ivory, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Not Quite Navy, Nautical Expedition DSP
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Big Shot, Tasteful Trim Die, Postage Stamp Punch, Early Espresso/White Baker’s Twine, Ticket Corner Punch
Using the passenger list stamp from the Open Sea stamp set and Chocolate Chip ink, I over stamped one of the lighter pieces of DSP. The layered imaged was wrapped with the Early Espresso/White Baker’s Twine (lots of possibilities with this) and finally, the compass was stamped using Cherry Cobbler ink on Whisper White and then punched with the new Postage Stamp Punch.
Don’t forget the promotion that is currently going on with Stampin Up! – Spring is Blooming Promotion. You can check out all the details Here.

Great card Karen. I wouldn’t mind being on that sailing ship right now – destination unknown.

Karen both your cards are fabulous and this definitely looks like a great set particularly for men.
I’m loving the new nautical images in the summer mini! Can’t wait to get some of them!! What a fabulous masculine birthday card you have created using them, Karen!
Wonderful masculine card.. Great sneek peek.l
Karen this is such a great set and you card is fabulous. Love how you used the stamp punch to accent the front, and I really love the anchor on the inside. THAT really helps to make it masculine LOVE it. I was playing around this set myself and made two or three cards last weekend so this might be an added CASE.
So sorry about your friend. I can’t imagine going through something like so terrifying – yet we live in a tornado region and think it will never happen to us. The truth of the matter is our lives can change in an instant. Please know your friend will be in my prayers. Hugs.
Awesome sneak peek! Love the images, perfect for masculine cards.
The perfect masculine card! I really like the colors you chose. Thanks for the sneak peek.
