Simple Stamping Thank You With Paper Ink and Stamps
Simple Stamping is a year-long challenge hosted by Stampin’ Up! Each month, Stampin’ Up! issues a challenge to create a theme card using minimal supplies. This month, for example, is to create a Thank You card using stamps, ink and paper. Pretty easy, wouldn’t you say?
I love to create fun and fancy fold cards, so to come up with the simple card is really a challenge for me. But, I think I did it with this Thank You card. You may be in need of a Thank You card or two after you open all your Christmas gifts.
Simple Stamping Thank You Card Recipe
Stamp Sets: Beauty & Joy.
Ink: Early Espresso, Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry, Mossy Meadow.
Paper: Early Espresso, Whisper White, Mossy Meadow, Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper (DSP – White leaves on Mossy Meadow).
Accessories: Die Cutting and Embossing Machine, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder, Gold Thread.
A Few How – tos’ – Baby Wipe Technique
- Use the Baby Wipe technique to create the multi-colored leaves.
- Fold a Baby Wipe in 4s and lay it on a leak proof surface, like the Stamp Cases. ( These are great for many different uses).
- Start with the Rich Razzleberry reinker, and squirt ink on the baby wipe in a circle.
- Next, use the Crushed Curry reinker, and squirt the ink around the Rich Razzleberry.
- Finally use the Old Olive reinker and fill in the blank spots. The ink will start to move together. Try not to go over the same spots or you will wind up with muddy ink.
- Now, take your stamp and ink it up with the ink on the baby wipe. Stamp several times. Stamp the leaves on the card after you stamp the trunk and the pot.
To finish the card:
- Cut a piece of WHisper White cardstock with the Stitched Rectangle.
- Emboss a Mossy Meadow panel with the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder.
- Layer the DSP on Early Espresso card base.
- Layer the stamped panel on the embossed Mossy Meadow and attach the stamped art piece.
- To finish the card, stamp the sentiment on a strip of Whisper White cardstock. Wrap a piece of Gold Thread behind the flag and attach to the card.
I did add a few more elements to this card, like the Gold Thread, Embossing Folder and Dies. But, like a said at the beginning, simple stamping is hard for me.
Now it’s your turn to do some Simple Stamping. If you post your creation, add, #simplestamping to the description and when people type the hashtag into their browsers, then it may come up on their screens.
