Royal Peacock Shows Off His Beautiful Colors – Create A Card.
The Royal Peacock, when showing off his beautiful tail feathers, is a beautiful sight to see. Actually, I cased this card from the 2019/20 Catalogue. When I first saw the suite in the catalogue, I just knew it would show up at my front door sooner or later. Well, it was sooner.
This a beautiful suite and you can have it all with only one ordering number. Click the above image to see all the various items in this suite (152187).
Peacock and Foil Papers Card Recipe
Stamp Set: Royal Peacock.
Ink: Pretty Peacock, VersaMark.
Paper: Whisper White, Pretty Peacock, Noble Peacock Foil Sheet (Old Olive), Pool Party.
Accessories: Die Cutting Machine, Detailed Peacock Dies, Beads & Baubles Embossing Folder ,Stitched Nested Labels, Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack (Mossy Meadow Linen Thread, Stamparatus.
How To’s
Getting the peacock framed by the Old Olive Foil Sheet was a bit tricky.
- With a cutting tool, cut the foil 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ and center the largest Stitched Nested Label in the center of the foil. Die cut the image using a Die Cutting Machine.
- Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock – 3-3/4″ x 5″ and emboss with the Beads & Baubles Embossing Folder.
- Use the Stamparatus and stamp the peacock on the Whisper White cardstock with Pretty Peacock ink. Do not remove the paper or the stamp from the Stamparatus. Once the ink is dry, ink the tail feathers with VersaMark and line up stamp over the tail feathers. Now, remove the stamped image, heat emboss with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and die cut with peacock die.
How to Align the Peacock Behind the Foil
- Slip the embossed Whisper White cardstock behind the label in the Old Olive foil and lay the cut out peacock on the cardstock and eyeball where the peacock looks the best. When you are happy, remove the Whisper White cc and attach the peacock with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Attach the layer behind the foil and then attach the whole panel to a Whisper White card front.
- Because the foil is a large piece be careful and when applying adhesive . If using the Multipurpose Liquid Glue, do not press too hard.
- NOTE: the next time I use such a large piece of foil which needs to be adhered. I will apply a piece of adhesive sheet before die cutting the nested label. Even better would be to emboss with an embossing folder.
- Stamp a sentiment on a scrap of Pool Party cardstock with Pretty Peacock ink. Cut a larger scrap of the Pretty Peacock cardstock and frame the smaller piece. Attach to card front. Add a piece of Old Olive Linen Thread underneath the sentiment panel.
There are so many ways you can use this suite and I will be posting a blog in a few days with another sample.
