My Reliable Stamping Tool For 2018
My Reliable Stamping Tool
Do you have a reliable stamping tool? I do. The Big Shot is my favourite tool. In fact, it’s my go to every year.
Why do I say the Big Shot is my favourite tool? Actually, I use it on nearly every project I create.
Here are 3 things that you can do with the Big Shot?
- The Big Shot is primarily a die cutting machine. Using various dies, thinlits and/or framelits, you can create various shapes. For example, there are dies for basic shapes such as circles, ovals, squares and hearts. Those all by themselves can be beneficial to crafting whether it is card making, scrapbooking or creating 3-D items such as boxes, etc.
- Some die cuts that cut images after they are stamped. For example, the card below.
- The Big Shot also does dry embossing with the Embossing Textured Folders. Use different techniques in conjunction with the embossing folders
Recipe
Stamps: Charming Cafe.
Ink/Marker: Basic Grey, Soft Suede, Soft Sky.
Paper: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Bubble & Fizz Designer Series Paper.
Accessories: Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Café Builder Framelits Dies, Whisper White Baker’s Twine, Daffodil Delight Enamel Dots, Blends: Light Old Olive, Light Daffodil Delight, Light Calypso Coral, Light Pink Pirouette, Aqua Painter Brush.
Stamp the flower wreath and circle with Basic Grey ink and due cut using the appropriate die. Remove the center from the circle with a die. Use another Whisper White panel to slide in behind the cut out circle. Before attaching this panel, stamp the window and awning in Basic Grey and do a wash with Soft Sky ink and the Aqua Painter Brush.
Stamp the chairs, table, small trees and cut using the matching die. Use Blends to color various portions of the scene. Attach to the color washed panel.
Now, insert and attach the panel behind the circle. Finish the card and send it off to someone.
If I didn’t have the Big Shot, I would need to fussy cut all the images plus the circle. To me, that is too much work and I doubt that there would be much card making or scrapbooking.
I have had my Big Shot for about 10 years. It is still going strong. Once in awhile the handle comes loose and needs tightening. It doesn’t need to be plugged in to work so it is very portable. It the electricity goes out, you can still craft.
So I have let you know my most reliable stamping tool for 2018, leave a comment and let me know what yours is.
