Joy for Christmas with the Elves
Joy for Christmas is a cute little card. The stamp set has 3 simple images which you can step-it up or not. The choice is yours. I decided to step this card up. Read below to see how I did this.
Christmas Card Recipe
Supplies:
Stamps: Jolly Words, Christmas Classics.
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Mossy Meadow, VersaMark, Stampin’ Blends: Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Parakeet Party, Pool Party, Natural Tones: Light, Medium Light, Color Lifter.
Paper (including measurements)
Cherry Cobbler – 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ Score at 4-1/4″ and burnish with Bone Folder. 4″ x 2-3/4″
Mossy Meadow – 5-1/4″ x 4″
Basic White- 2-1/2″ x 3-3/4″, 4″ x 5-1/4″ scraps,
Shining Christmas 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper – 5″ x 3-3/4″
Accessories: Metallic Embossing Powders (gold), Festive Pearls (red). 1/8″ Metallic Woven Ribbon (Parakeet Party)
Tools: Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Deckled Rectangles, Paper Snips, Heat Tool.
Basic Supplies ; Paper Trimmer, Bone folder, Paper Snips, Take Your Tool Pick, Stampin’ SEAL+, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots.
Instructions:
- Attach the DSP to the Mossy Meadow panel.
- Cut the Cherry Cobbler panel and the Basic White panel with the Deckled Rectangles. Use the appropriate sized Deckled Dies.
- Mask the stamp with a post-it note to cover the letters, and wreath. Ink the remainder of the stamp with Tuxedo Black ink. Remove the Post-it Note and stamp the images on the the Basic White. Ink the letters with VersaMark and the wreath with Tuxedo Black ink. Separate the letters from the wreath.
- Sprinkle the Gold Emboss powder on the letters and heat with Heat Tool. Use Paper Snips and cut out the letters. Leave a bit of the white border.
- Color the wreath with Stampin’ Blends Light & Dark Parakeet Party and the decorations with Dark Cherry Cobbler. Cut out with Paper Snips, cut out the center as well.
- Color the elves: hats, outfits with Dark and Light Cherry Cobbler blends, the faces with Natural Tones: Light, Medium Light and the hat baubles with Daffodil Delight blends.
- Color a strip of Pool Party blends below the elves to ground them.
- Lay out the letters and wreath and when satisfied with the adhere with dimensionals. Attach to the DSP panel.
- Cut a length of the metallic ribbon to go around the the above panel and enough for a bow.
- Place a Festive Pearl at the bottom of the wreath so that it looks as if the elf is holding it. Attach the panel to the Cherry Cobbler card base.
Inside:
On the Basic White panel, add a strip of DSP to the bottom. Stamp a greeting from the Christmas Classics stamp set in Mossy Meadow.
