Happy Fathers Day – Make Today Amazing
Happy Fathers Day
Happy Fathers Day to all the Dad’s out there. Fathers Day is this coming Sunday and it’s a day to celebrate all Dads everywhere. In Canada, Fathers Day is celebrated the 3rd Sunday in June. Fathers Day is celebrated to honour Fathers and Father figures which can include stepfathers, fathers-in-law, guardians (eg. foster parents), and family friends.
What are the types of activities that can make it a fun and happy Fathers Day?
- Giving a handmade card
- Fathers Day fun runs and other events where the proceeds will go to a charity eg, prostate cancer research.
- Gifts include neckties and other types of clothing, chocolates, books for equipment for various hobbies.
- Taking in a movie, a visit to a park or zoo.
For my Dad, I am doing a turkey dinner. Dad loves turkey, so that is a gift that he will enjoy.
What are your plans for the day? Leave me a comment and let me know.
This Fathers Day card is for Lloyd’s Dad. We celebrated last weekend as it was also his 90th birthday.
Stamps: Amazing Birthday, May 2014 Paper Pumpkin kit.
Ink/Markers: Night of Navy, Real Red, Crushed Curry.
Paper: Night of Navy, Irresistibly Yours DSP, Whisper White, Gold Glimmer.
Accessories: Big Shot, Banner Framelits, Small Oval Punch, Triple Banner Punch, Sponge Daubers.
For the background panel, I used the Irresistibly Yours DSP that was available in this year’s Sale-a-Bration. However, in the new 2015/16 Annual Catalogue, you will find a similar paper called “Call Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series Paper”.
In this package of paper, there are 12 sheets. 6 sheets are already coloured with the new 2015-17 In Colours (might I add beautiful colours) and the 6 sheets that you can colour yourself.
This paper can be brayed, sponged or daubed with ink and/or coloured using the Marvelous Marker.
When you colour these sheets, the colour makes the pattern pop and gives an embossed looked.
Be sure to make a fun and happy Fathers Day for your Dad or a significant Father figure in your life.
