Handmade Sympathy Card For a Friend
Handmade Sympathy Card – Life Sometimes Changes in a Moment
Having to make a handmade sympathy card is not something I like to do as it only means one thing. Someone has lost a person they love. In my case, it is a friend and former coworker. She lost her Mother in a tragic accident and it is so sad. It makes us think about how fragile life is.
My friend retired a couple of months ago and she was planning to spend more time with her parents and now her Mom is gone. The tribute to this woman was incredible. She made friends wherever she went and her house was open to everyone she knew and in some cases to those she didn’t know. She would cook for 2 or a 100, it just didn’t matter. Everyone was always welcome. She was a wife, mother, grandmother or as her grandchildren called her “granny”, a sister , and an aunt. She was this loving person who had a beautiful smile and a heart of gold.. She will truly be missed by all those that knew her.
Here is the handmade sympathy card that I created in her memory.
Recipe
Stamps: You’re Lovely, Bloom with Hope.
Ink/Markers: Blushing Bride, Pistachio Pudding, Garden Green Marker, Blushing Bride Marker.
Paper: Pistachio Pudding, Garden Green, Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Flowerpot DSP.
Accessories: Big Shot, Striped Scallop Thinlit, Deco Labels Collection Framelit, Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, 1-3/4” Circle Punch, Blushing Bride 1/4” Cotton Ribbon, Pearl Jewels.
This is the first time I used the Striped Scallop Thinlit and when I ran it through the Big Shot, the first time, I had trouble getting the paper out of the Thinlit. However, I did it again and this time used wax paper between the die and the card stock. The paper came away like a dream.
Creating a handmade sympathy card allowed me to reflect on the family and all that they are going through right now. It is important to let the ones you love know how much you love them. When is the last time you have said “I love you” to someone who is near and dear to you. Yes, life can change in an instant.
Oh Karen what a sad story and for your friend to lose her mom unexpectedly. But your card is simply lovely and I’m sure it will bring comfort receiving this from the heart. Have a great weekend 🙂
Karen so sorry for the loss of your friend but your beautiful cards pays her tribute. Hugs.
