Friends Get Together to Celebrate a Birthday
Friends Get Together
Friends get together to celebrate many occasions. In this day and age when everyone seems to be going in many directions, my friends and I make sure that we get together to celebrate birthdays.
Our birthdays are spread out evenly through out the year, so every couple of months we get together for some laughter, catching up on the latest happenings, playing a game of cards and of course, eating birthday cake. After all, you can’t have a birthday without birthday cake.
For, me, it is a reason to create a card.
Recipe – Painted Petals Birthday Card
Stamps: Painted Petals, Bloom With Hope, Papillon Potpourri.
Ink/Markers: Rose Red, Pacific Point Wild Wasabi.
Paper: Whisper White, Naturals White, Rose Red, Painted Blooms DSP.
Accessories: Artisan Embellishment Kit (Lace), Whisper White 1/4” Cotton Ribbon, Pearl Jewels, Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Modern Label Punch.
For some time I have been wanting to score a border around the card stock and then setting the focal image inside the box. Finally, I did it.
Using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool, I scored 1/4″ and 1/2″ in from the edge on each side of the Whisper White card stock. – When using this technique, make sure you leave the exact same measurements in the corner, that is, don’t go to the edge of the card stock. By doing this, you will create a frame.
For the border around the sentiment, I punched a piece of Rose Red card stock using the Modern Label punch – oh..no..this punch is retiring. I then cut it in half and layered each half on the top and bottom of the punched sentiment.
So, next time it’s friends get together event, think about how fortunate you are to have friends who love and appreciate you. Return that love and appreciation by creating a card for each of them. They will truly enjoy and appreciate you for making them feel special.
