Fancy Fold Greeting Cards
Fancy Fold Greeting Cards
Fancy Fold Greeting cards are fun to create as they go beyond the regular 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ portrait or landscape cards. While these cards measure the standard size they are anything but standard.
Fancy fold greeting cards come in all shapes and sizes and they all exude technique and while we tend to make those standard greeting cards, sometimes it’s just fun to try something else.
Today, I give you another file folder cards and yes, it is one of the fancy fold greeting cards. While this cards is a Christmas card, you can re-create the file folder card for any occasion at any time.
All you need is the Envelope punch board and you are set to go.

Recipe

Paper: Whisper White, Smokey Slate, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Silver Glimmer Paper, Winter Frost Designer Paper
Ink: Bermuda Bay
Accessories: Big Shot, Festive Flurry Framelit Dies, Chalk Talk Framelits, Delicate Designs Emboss Folders, Bermuda Bay 1/8” Taffeta Ribbon, Envelope Punch Board, Versa Mark, White Embossing Powder, Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder
To create the file folder card, the front card base is cut down by approximately 1-1/2″ and then the cuts made with the Envelope punch board to create the file folder look. Before sealing the sides with sticky tape, a length of ribbon was wrapped around the frond of the card. The sides where then adhered together to give the pocket.
The greetings portion of the card is cut down so that would slide in and out of the pocket with ease.
To add to the insert, 2 sizes of snowflakes from the Festive Flurry stamp set were stamped with Versamark and embossed, the largest is embossed with white embossing powder and the smaller one is embossed with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. Of course, a snowflake needs more bling, so a rhinestone was attached to the layered snowflakes.
The layered snowflakes are attached in the upper left corner so that a portion of it slides down over the card pocket.
