Christmas Card Meets the Thinlits
Christmas Card Using the Thinlits Die
Christmas cards started? Christmas is about 148 days off according to the last post I saw on Facebook – but who’s counting. However, it is time to start thinking about those Christmas cards that you have been meaning to create since last January.
Remember the resolution? I am not going to wait until the last minute and then I have to go buy my Christmas cards.
The Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalogue has a number of stamps that would be great on your Christmas Cards and there are some kits that will allow you to get those Christmas cards done in no time at all.
This is my first Christmas card for the year and I am sure that you will see a whole lot more on my blog as September rolls into October, rolls into…. You get the point!
I used the Circle Thinlits to create this card and also added the extension so that it has a definite inside for a verse and to hand-write a message.
Also, the 2-3/8″ Circle punch is the perfect size for another layer on the circle.
Recipe
Stamps: Christmas Collectibles (c – 131775, w- 131772, p35 2013 Holiday Catalogue), More Merry Messages (c – 126402, w- 126400, Online Only), Tags 4 You (c- 131823, w-131820 p37 2013 Holiday Catalogue)
Paper: Shimmery White, Raspberry Ripple, Old Olive Textured, Season of Style DSP Stack, Champagne Glimmer
Ink: Old Olive, Gold Metallic Encore
Accessories: Big Shot, Circle Thinlits, Circle Collection Framelits, Old Olive 1/8” Taffeta Ribbon, Season of Style Washi Tape, 1-2” Circle Punch, 2-3/8″ Circle Punch, Label Bracket Punch, Christmas Ornament Punch
The base of the card uses Raspberry Ripple rather than the traditional red, however, it goes quite well with the Season of Style DSP stack.
The DSP packs are great for a quick card and scrapbook layouts. The pack has 48 sheets of paper, double sided with 4 designs. Each sheet measure 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2″. So, depending on how you use the sheet, you will get very little wastage.
On this card, I used practically the whole sheet except for 1/2 the circle that I cut using the Circles Collection Framelits.
And you just have to love the Washi Tape. These tapes are paper based, easily repositioned, tear easy and are a quick and great addition to a card or scrapbook page.
The More Merry Messages are on the carry-over list from the 2012 Holiday Catalogue and you will only find them online. See the link below for which stamps have been carried over
This card also uses the Gold Encore ink which gives a real nice gold glimmer when you stamp with it. Both the sentiment and the verse on the inside of the card were stamped using this ink. The Circle Thinlit die also has several different dies that you are able to use for added embellishments. I used the star and cut it out in the Champagne Glimmer paper and the 3 chevrons were cut on the Old Olive Textured card stock.
I think I have covered it all now!
Happy Stamping
