Calla Lilies Create a Beautiful Sympathy Card
Calla Lilies Sympathy Card
For me, Calla Lilies represent peace and elegance and make a beautiful focal image on front of a sympathy card . A friend lost her Mother a couple of weeks ago. and I want to use the Calla Lilies from the Remarkable You stamp set. I have created way too many sympathy cards this year.
Life is so precious and we need to appreciate the times that we spend with our loved ones. I remember only too well how I felt when I nearly lost my Mother earlier this year. It certainly was not a nice feeling.
Calla lilies signify magnificent beauty and are often used in bridal bouquets. However, calla lilies are also found in funeral and/or memorial bouquets as they do represent sympathy and purification of a departed soul. Calla lilies are usually white, However, they also come in a variety of colors, including yellow, pink, green, purple, orange and black.
Stamps: Remarkable You, Bloom with Hope.
Ink/Markers: Black Stazon, Tuxedo Black.
Paper: Thick Whisper White, Basic Black, Everyday Chic DSP.
Accessories: Big Shot, Lots of Labels Framelits, Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds, Whisper White Seam Binding Ribbon, Medium Daffodil Delight Blendabilities, Medium Wild Wasabi Blendabilities.
To create the calla lilies, I used Crystal Effects on a piece of Window Sheet. I stamped the lilies on the Window Sheet with Black Stazon ink. This is a great ink to use for non-porous media. It does take a while for the image to dry. You can leave it sit or use the Heat Tool to speed up the drying process.
When the ink was dry, I turn the window sheet over so that I was working on the side that was not stamped. I used the Blendabilities to colour the stem and the stamens in the center of the flower. You need to let this dry as well. Next I used the Crystal Effects, and very gently and sparingly painted the flowers using the nozzle. When you have the Crystal Effects painted on the flowers, sprinkle Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the flowers, shake off the excess and leave to dry. I left mine overnight to make sure that the flowers were completely dry.
To put the card together, the Calla Lilies were fussy cut, place on the Basic Black card stock label. I attached the flowers using Crystal Effects, (makes a great adhesive).
How have you used Crystal Effects. Leave me a comments to let me know what you do with it.
