Bright Peacock Feathers Create a Card with Sponging
Create bright peacock feathers by using the sponging technique. Peacocks have beautiful tail feathers, and sadly, only the male have this unique feature. If you have seen a male display his feathers, it is a beautiful sight.
Peacock Feathers Card Recipe
Stamp Set: Royal Peacock.
Ink: Balmy Blue, Old Olive.
Paper:Blueberry Bushel, Whisper White, Noble Peacock Specialty Designer Series Paper, Nobel Peacock Foil Sheets.
Accessories:Die Cutting Machine, Detailed Peacock Dies, Stitched Nested Labels, Blueberry Bushel 1/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon,
How to Create The Multicolored Feathers
- Use Whisper White cardstock and a Sponge Dauber. Sponge the Blueberry Bushel and Old Olive inks in several lines to cover the panel. Sparingly overlay the inks. If you do this too much the colors will become muddy and not provide the look you want.
- Once you have the color distributed to your satisfaction, die cut 4 feathers using the Detailed Peacock Dies.
- Use the 3rd smallest Nested Label DIe and Whisper White cardstock for the sentiment label. THe larger label is the left over piece from the Royal Peacock Shows Off His Beautiful Colors.
- Layer the Blueberry Bushel DSP over the Blueberry Bushel cardstock label. Attach the 4 feathers in a circular pattern to the DSP panel.
- Stamp the sentiment with Old Olive ink on the Whisper White cardstock and attach to the foil stitched label. Loop the Blueberry Bushel behind the label and attach to the DSP to cover the ends of the feathers.
