Blendabilities Sneak Peek – The 10 Things You Need to Know
A Sneak Peek of the 2014 Stampin’ Up! New Products
It’s a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator perk – the ability to order new Stampin’ Up! product before the annual catalogue becomes official. At this time of year, everyone is excited as we say good-bye to retired stamps and accessories and look forward to the new.
Yes, and some of the retired product I am very sorry to see leave…over the year or years you get attached to certain products. How about you?
Stampin’ Up! is bringing to us BLENDABILITIES – the alcohol markers. These are not a replacement for Copics or Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and the learning curve for the Blendabilities is much shorter.
Before explaining a bit more about the Blendabilities, I will show you the card I created.

Some facts about the Blendabilities
- Each color comes in a set of three with one marker being the exact Stampin’ Up! color.
- Each color is designated light, medium, and dark.
- The choice is yours as to whether or not you blend from dark to light or light to dark. I find though that I get a better blend going from dark to light.
- To blend use small circle – like you learned when you started coloring or a flicking motion. You should not see a line where the colors meet. If you see a line, just keep blending.
- The Blendabilities work marvelously on Whisper Whiter and Very Vanilla card stock. The card stock will not pill as you blend – sometimes this will happen when you use the regular markers. There will be bleed through to the back side – however, this is OK – you know that you are getting sufficient ink laid down on your paper. Just make sure that your work surface is protected as the color is permanent.
- Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black is the best ink to stamp your image. This is a water based ink, gives a crisp image and does not smear when using the Blendabilities – just make sure that it dries before you start to color.
- There is a White Color Lifter pen – this does not remove the color, however it will move the color around for blending purposes.
- You can use Blendabilities to color embellishments and because the ink is permanent it will not rub off or fade or wash out. Try coloring rhinestones, pearls, ribbon, buttons, etc for a different effect.
- There are no refills available for the Blendabilities.
- Ok, this one is the hardest now that I have told you all about the great features of the Blendabilities. As of today, they will not be available when the new catalogue goes live on June 2nd. Oh DRATS.
Stampin Up is committed to bring quality products to us, so they are working out the last minute kinks. Stampin Up stands behind their products. So when they become available, I will shout it from the roof tops – ok not really, but you will find the information here on my blog, on facebook or twitter.
So, keep checking back
Happy Stamping
These sound interesting. I might have to get some to try out. Your card is just lovely..
Your card is lovely and the explanation for using the markers is so thorough Karen.
Gorgeous and sweet card with these two beauties! THe blendabilities sound very much like something everyone would be able to use ~ I look forward to more of your cards!
Thanks for the facts list, very helpful! You do mention that “the Blendabilities work marvelously on Whisper Whiter and Very Vanilla card stock.” Do you know if they will work on other papers just as well (like a copic marker)?
Hi Leona, I have not tried other papers other than the Whisper White and Very Vanilla. However, I don’t see why they wouldn’t work on other types of paper.
Thanks for your comment.
You have done a fabulous job using your new markers to color this card Karen and what a fabulously fun image. xx
