Black & White Congratulations Card. Use High Tide Stamp Set
Create a black and white celebrate card with the High Tide stamp set from Stampin Up. These two contrast colors are reminiscent of the old cameras and film that took only black and white photos. Photographers say that monochrome pictures force you to look at the other elements in the picture such as lines, shape or texture. Even today, photographers will shoot in black and white to add a certain mood to the picture.
I will be swapping this card at the ‘Local On-Stage Celebration” hosted by Stampin’ Up! on Saturday. This is always an exciting time of the year, when we say good-bye to the retiring products and hello to the new products. There are a number of changes coming for the 2019/2020 year. REmember what is said about change:..change is uncomfortable at first and then you become used to the change and it feels normal. The best thing to do is keep an open mind and go with the flow.
Black & White Celebrate Card Recipe
Stamp Set: High Tide.
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Basic Black, Basic Gray.
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black
Accessories: Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, Layered Circle Framelits, Celebrate You Framelits, Silver and Whisper White Baker’s Twine, Stampin’ Sponges, Adhesive Sheets.
Details for this greeting card:
- Use the second largest circle to cut the circle in the Whisper White cardstock.
- Leave the circle in the panel while you stamp the images. Stamp the sand in Basic Grey and fill in the hole where the Lighthouse would be stamped with the small sand stamp and Basic Grey ink. The grey sand will extend past the die cut circle.
- Stamp the water with Basic Grey but stamp off on a scrap of paper before stamping on the Whisper White cardstock. The water will then appear in the distant.
- Stamp the grasses and the sand birds on the sand with Tuxedo Black ink. Make sure they extend into the water to give some dimension.
- Now, sponge the Basic Grey ink around the WHisper White circle, bringing some of the grey into the sky.
- With the circle back in the panel, stamp the gulls in Tuxedo Black ink.
- Die cut the “Celebrate” from Basic Black cardstock. Attach a piece of Adhesive Sheet to the cardstock before cutting. The adhesive will make it easier to attach the die cut. Attach the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give some lift and dimension.
- Tie a length of the Whisper White and Silver Baker’s Twine around the black and white panel and attach to WHisper White card base.
