Beautiful Lady in Powder Pink – Watercolor Easily
Beautiful Lady in Powder Pink
Why not a beautiful lady to grace the front of your greeting card? Why did it take me so long to purchase The Beautiful You stamp set. Not only does the stamp set contain 8 sentiments but there are 3 different poses and 2 different watercolor stamps.
The watercolor treatment for this card is so simple…stamp the largest watercolor image in Powder Pink ink. Subsequent to stamping the watercolor image, stamp the lady with the hat in Basic Gray. You perhaps will ask why Basic Gray and not Basic Black? I thought that the Basic Gray would be toned down a bit and not so stark as the Basic Black.
Recipe
Stamps: Beautiful You.
Ink/Marker: Powder Pink, Basic Gray.
Paper: Thick Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Powder Pink, Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack, Bermuda Bay Glimmer.
Accessories: Big Shot, Layering Squares Framelits, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Subtle Enamel Shapes.
The colours I used on this card just evolved during the design period. First, I only had 2 colours on the card – Whisper White and Powder Pink. While it looked okay, it did not pop off the card front. So I started rethinking….it gets dangerous when I rethink…the card needed a pop of color.
After trying several colors, I settled on Bermuda Bay. Not only did I use Bermuda Bay cardstock, I also used Bermuda Bay glimmer paper. While, this glimmer paper is no longer available, you can create you own glimmer using Dazzling Diamonds , Silver or Gold Glimmer Paper. The small flower in the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits is used to die cut the flower.
If you are on my email list and you need to be, the weekly email that was sent out today had the steps to create colored glimmer paper in any colour.
