A Good Life When You Can Celebrate 95 Birthdays and 74 Anniversaries
There are many ways to define a good life. But, when you celebrate 95 years of birthdays and 74 years of anniversaries, I would say it’s a pretty good life.
Yes, I am talking about my parents. They are aging, and are basically shut-ins now, they have had a good run. Last month was their 74th anniversary and we try to celebrate as a family because there is no telling how much longer we will get to celebrate with them. There are 2 children with significant others, 4 grandchildren with significant others and 3 great-grandchildren. Most of use live in the same town, which in this day, is unusual. The grandkids and the great grand kids have grown up knowing their grandparents. There is a special bond between grandparents and grandchildren that is very hard to break.
Here is the anniversary card that I created for them. These cards are special as my Mom keeps all the cards that are made for her. I hope my Dad likes butterflies. He is easy going so a feminine cards won’t easily insult his masculinity.
Butterflies Anniversary Card Recipe

How To Details for the Good Life Card
- On the Whisper White panel, stamp the swirly image using Basic Grey ink. Stamp in a circle around the panel with the narrow end as the pivot point. It does not matter if you stamp off the cardstock. Because the Basic Grey ink is a water-based ink, let it dry (or use a heat tool) before coloring with the Stampin’ Blends. Colour the flowers with the Soft Seafoam and Highland Heather blends.
- Cut a circle from Whisper White cs and the Vellum with Layering CIrcle Dies. Stamp the Whisper White circle with the splotch stamp and Petal Pink ink.
- Die cut the outer butterfly from Petal Pink cs and the inner butterfly from Highland Heather. While all the butterflies are joined, you can cut them apart and use individually. Layer the Petal Pink butterfly on the Highland Heather butterfly. Place the Whisper White circle at the center. Die cut the swirly leaf from Soft Seafoam cardstock.
- Decide where to place the butterflies, now place adhesive on the back of the Vellum circle and attach to Whisper White circle. This extra step will prevent the adhesive from showing. Attach the circle to the card front.
- Add the butterflies, seafoam leaf, ribbon bow and adhesive-backed sequins to the card front. Stamp the sentiment on Whisper White cs, die cut with Stitched Rectangle Dies and attach with Dimensionals.
Decorate the Inside of the Card
- Cut a Whisper White panel. Punch the 4 corners with the Detailed Trio Punch. Stamp the verse in Basic Grey and a butterfly in Petal Pink.
So, why don’t you try the re-create this “it’s a good life” card. You can use it as a birthday card, thinking of you card or a just because card. It’s all up to you!
