Floral Copper

With the popularity of florals and copper this year, why not have a floral copper card and/or scrapbook page.  Trends come and go as preferences change and what is old becomes new again.  The popularity of gold and silver continue to be strong in many areas.  Copper is a metallic that has been around in previous years, however, it is starting to make a comeback.

The other trend, floral patterns is making a resurgence in a number of areas.  You see those patterns in clothing, decor and yes, paper crafting.  Each year, Stampin’ Up! brings new products into their line.  This year one of the new products introduced is copper.

The two elements, floral and copper, can be found in the Affectionately Yours Suite which appeared in the 2016/17 Annual Catalogue. The Affectionately Your Suite contains products that coordinate.  For example, there is the stamp set, Love and Affection, the coordinating paper, embossing folder, washi tape DSP,  ribbon and, of course, copper embossing powder and metallic thread. All you need to create a project.  It’s the coordination of products that endears me to Stampin’ Up!.

Recipe

Stamps: Love and Affection.

Ink/Markers: Watermelon Wonder, Dapper Denim, Tuxedo Black, Cucumber Crush.

Paper: Whisper White Thick, Whisper White, Dapper Denim, Watermelon Wonder., Affectionately Yours Specialty DSP.

Accessories: Big Shot, Floral Affection Embossing Folder, Banner Triple Punch, Dapper Denim 3/8” Ruched Ribbon, Blender Pen, Candy Dots.

This card is not difficult to create.  The flowers and leaves were stamped in Tuxedo Black ink and coloured using the markers and the BLender Pen. the embossing folder is smaller than the normal embossing folders.  You can dry emboss a flower onto cardstock to use as a background.
