Celebrate Dad on Father’s Day
Celebrate Dad
Celebrate Dad as his special day is coming in a couple of weeks. As my Dad is 92 years young, I value the time that I spend with him. I am going to be taking him to his home town for a visit and time to reminisce. This visit will probably be his last. Thank goodness we are flying and trip will only have 1 airplane change.
This will be the first time in over 40 years, that my Dad and I have gone on a trip with the 2 of us. So it will be quality time spent with him. He is so excited to go. Every couple of days he calls me and tells me how many days we have before we go.
We will be gone for Father’s Day, and I made this card that I will give to him to celebrate the day. I made a square card using the new Thoughtful Banners stamp set and matching Duet Banner Punch. This is a great stamp set as you can mix and match the words and come up with a personalized greeting exactly how you want to say it.
Recipe
Stamps: Thoughtful Banners.
Ink/Markers: Watermelon Wonder, Daffodil Delight, Dapper Denim, Mint Macaron, Marina Mist.
Paper: Whisper White Thick, Whisper White, Watermelon Wonder, Dapper Denim Neutrals DSP Stack (Gold Diagonal Stripe).
Accessories: Big Shot, Brick Wall Embossing Folder, Duet Banner Punch, Subtles Candy Dots (Marina Mist), Candy Dots Brad Bases.
Like a said above this card is a square card. I thought it would look great using masculine type colours like the Dapper Denim and the Brick Wall embossing folder. To add some interest to the brick wall, the edges of the Dapper Denim were sponged.I did case a card in the 2016/17 Annual Catalogue and changed it up a bit with the words and colours.
The lines were fairly easy to stamp as I used the handy dandy Grid Paper. I lined up the Whisper White card stock on a grid and made sure that the paper was square to the grid. Then I lined up the stamps to the 1/4″ grid lines on the paper. There is a 1/4″ space between the bottom of one colour to the top of the next.
On each of the 4 corners on the Watermelon Wonder panel, I added the now retired Candy Dots which I attached to the retired Candy Dot Bases.
