Recipe
Stamps: Guy Greetings, Gorgeous Grunge.
Ink/Markers: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake.
Paper: Very Vanilla, Type Set Specialty DSP, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake.
Accessories: Big Shot, Apothecary Framelits, Triple Punch, Daubers, Sponges, 1/2” Circle Punch, 5/8” Natural Chevron Ribbon.
I knew what I wanted to create and I knew the feeling I wanted to invoke in someone when they looked at the card. Of course, the images certainty lent themselves to the vintage feeling. So that’s what I went with.
Besides, this guy birthday greetings card is for a gentleman that is turning 90 years young.
To create this guy greetings card, I started with the Soft Suede card base and followed that with a Crumb Cake panel and sponged the edges with Soft Suede. I usually use the matching ink when sponging. However, I liked the effect of the darker ink on the Crumb Cake card stock. The grid pattern from the Typeset DSP was also sponge, but in Crumb Cake.
On the grid paper, the splotches were stamped using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and using the Soft Suede ink. The stamp was stamped off once before stamping on the paper.
The frame for the hats was stamped and then die cut with the Apothecary Framelits. To add interest, the ends were punched with the 1/2″ Circle Punch.
Finally, the greeting was stamped on Very Vanilla, punched with the Triple Punch on both ends and sponged, one of the hats stamped and fussy cut and applied to the sentiment. The Chevron ribbon carries the vintage and the guy theme as well.
So, if you have a guy with a birthday, then a guy birthday greetings card is the way to go.
