Dazzling Butterflies Are Beautiful in the Sunlight
Dazzling Butterflies
In the summer, you can see dazzling butterflies fluttering by. They are so incredibly graceful in all their beautiful colors.
I always have this question, why don’t they call them flutterbys? Would make more sense as they are not made of butter and I have never seen butter flying. Ok, maybe when someone gets carried away with a food fight. That’s a mess for sure.
Because I am curious and the internet is always right, right, I decided to do some research.
Apparently at one time Butterflies were called Flutterbys and as in any language, words morph (no pun intended). It is also believed in the colonies that witches would turn into winged creatures and steal butter.
However we got to the word butterfly is not really important. I like to think of them as dazzling butterflies.
