Paper Pumpkin May 2019 Kit Subscribe to The Kits
Did you miss the Paper Pumpkin Kit from May 2019? I am sorry that you did as it was beautiful. Designed by Shelley Gardner, the co-founder for Stampin’ Up!, the kit reflected Shelley’s personality. When I first say the kit at the April Local On Stage, there was no question, I just had to have it.
The kit came with enough materials to create 12 cards. There are 3 cards of 4 different designs. Now, you can decide to create the cards as shown in the directions or you can create alternative cards. Because I wanted to you one of the sets of cards and give them as a gift, I created a gift box using paper and stamps from the Bird Ballad Suite.
Free as a Bird Gift Box
Stamp Set: Free as a Bird.
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black.
Paper: Pool Party, Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper.
Accessories: Adhesive Backed Sequins, Stampin’ Blends: Pool Party Combo, Old Olive Combo, Petal Pink Combo, Calypso Coral Combo, Crumb Cake Duo, Color Lifter.
How to Create the Box
- Take measurements for your box. Stack your finished cards and measure the width and length of the stack and add 1/4″ to each measurement. Measure the depth of the stack to determine how deep your box will be.
- The bottom of the box is made using Pool Party cardstock and the top box uses the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper.
- To keep the box closed as I had to travel with it, I created a belly band from Pool Party cardstock.
- Stamp the bird, leaves and flowers with Tuxedo Black ink. Color the bird with the Stampin’ Blends (Calypso Coral, and Crumb Cake). Fussy cut the bird. Color the leaves with Old Olive Blends and the flowers with Calypso Coral Blends. Sorry, but you have to fussy cut these as well.
- Measure around the middle of the box to cut the belly band. Cut the belly band, 2″ wide x the measurement plus 1/2″. The 1/2 inch gives you enough room the attach the ends together. Loosely mold the band to the box so that you can determine where you need to crease the folds with a bone folder. The band needs to slip off the box easily. When you are satisfied with the fit, (the band shouldn’t be too loose not too tight). It sounds like we are dealing with the “Three Bears”. Attach the belly band at the back with Tear & Tape Adhesive. Attach the bird, the flowers, leaves and Adhesive Backed Sequins.
Don’t forget, you can also create other cards and/or scrapbook pages with the supplies in the box
While, I created this card according to the instructions in the box, I will have alternatives to the suggested cards for Paper Pumpkin May 2019 for you shortly. These will be here on my blog.
